Across the Yarra...
19-JUNE-2011

I wanted to share this photo I took yesterday in Melbourne city. I chose to walk down an alternative route rather than down busy Flinders Street. Walking along the Yarra I snapped this lovely shot featured below, the trees shedding their foilage in the foreground and the striking blue sky complimented by the soft white clouds. I feel that it really shows the beauty of this lovely city in what is normally such a dull season :)

Mac's, Mac's; Everywhere!
16-JUNE-2011

Ten brand spankin' new iMac's - and might I say "Reow! ;) Seeeexy!". These are the new release iMacs that Apple announced on May 3rd. Toeing the AU$33,000 mark this lot did not disappoint.

New iMacs

They came in super-cute designer style packaging, Apples usual trademark and even though I knew, as I unboxed these elegant pieces of computer, that they weren't mine to play with in the future and that a horde of Art and Design students would enjoy fiddling with them, I still felt excited- nothing like when I unboxed these 41 Dell Optiplex 990 SFF's! (below)

Dell stack

Maybe its the sleek packaging, the shiny screens and the ever-so-happy song they sing when powered on, or maybe its just the feeling of eliteness that coincides with the world-renounded brand but either way, it felt goooood.

I wonder, is that why Apple owners are so happy with their products?

Lets check the tech specs on these majestic beasts...
- iMac 27" 2.7GHZ i5/ 4GB/ 1TB/ 6770M

27-inch display : 2560 x 1440 resolution
2.7GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
4GB (two 2GB) memory
1TB hard drive
AMD Radeon HD 6770M with 512MB

Break it down because as much as I love my tech I'm not THAT technical; BASICALLY we have, a 27 inch computer screen (computer is built into the screen) its got a very fast processer inside it which means it does stuff quick. Its got a lot of space to save things 1TB is roughly 227 DVD quality movies! And its graphics are good enough to play games at good quality and watching movies/looking at photos on it would basically be flawless quality.

As I wondered my way into Flinders Street Station I passed the flower seller and images of the streets in Paris came flooding back, as I passed by the buckets of flowers in the station I decided to invest $6.00 and bring some flowers home for the house.

The pretty Irises I purchased. Here's a lovely tip - towards the end of the day try offering the flower seller a little less, you might be able to pick up a bargain!

Ode to be TACKY!
12-AUGUST-2010

Who doesn't enjoy the tacky movie on the odd occassion? I've recently had the pleasure of watching a rather tacky zombie flick with my best mate at 3.30 in the morning. The film was called Doghouse, and I dare say, this is the evil that populates the world when we give Britan a film budget. The story goes, a group of young-ish guys take off to a small country town that is supposedly "filled with women" where they are met by zombie girls, from sword wielding dead seductresses, to the traditional 'zombie bride' this film is awesomely bad and still leads me to wonder, -is this a comedy?

While on the same note, I had the privelage of watching another equally tacky film, 'Infestation' where by some freak event the world is populated by disgusting oversized bugs. That try eating people, I guess, theres no real backstory, no explination, just some bad jokes followed by some even worse acting with a dash of action. Dramatically bad.

However, at the end of the night, I'm gonna reccommend these two film for '4:20 Greats!'

'Babe! You need to moisturize'
31-MAY-2010

So its been a while since ive had an update but this update had to come, recently ive aquired a new tattoo addiction. It really doesnt hurt much... Contrary to popular belief.

Tattoos are beautiful pieces of art, done by amazing artists. And to quote my amazing artist "its your fucking body who gives a shit what other people think".

So i hit this hiccup when i was looking after my tattoo, i got a rash from the gladwrap which was supposed to keep it dry.
First tip i got: take the gladwrap off after the first night and only apply it when showering.
Tip i discovered myself: paper towl is great for not getting cream on the inside of your shirt.

Then my tattoo got reeeeally itchy. Tip: try slapping it. Not super hard, but yeah. You get the idea.

And the cream! I got allll these suggestions on what to use ;protat, bepanthen, pawpaw ointment. Etc, and when to change from an antiseptic cream to a moisturiser, which one to use? Vitamin e cream, nivia cream, normal face moisturiser... Etc!!

So I've been using bepanthen which seems to be the most popular suggestion, and it's working well. I hiiighly recommend using it. It's a baby-rash antiseptic cream, found in any large supermarket (baby aisle). Pawpaw ointment doesnt contain any antiseptic properties so it doesnt help fight possible infection -ow darnnn :(

Now WHEN to change over from your chosen antiseptic cream to a moisturiser? Well when its finished scabbing up (trust me it WILL scab up, dont kid yourself darling :) I said mine wouldn't, but, it did) it will begin to "flake" and this just turns out like skin flakes (similar to that of goldfish food) flicking off your skin, attached initially but it'll come off. If youve had color put on the flakes will be the color of your ink :) which is cool...

When it starts flakin' this is when to start puttin on a moisturiser, vitamin e cream is amazingggg! Think of your skin going taught like it's sunburnt, we put aloe vira on sunburn, which contains vitamin e :) as a neutometics agent I got a free container of "Hydrafinity grapefruit moisturizer" which works initially and it makes your ink look and feel amazing! But it doesnt last long and has to be reapplied almost hourly! My boyfriend is using the nivia soft - intensive moisturizing cream (containing vitamin e and jojoba oil)- and his pretty impressed, i have to admit i am impressed too, it seems to work well! :) but at the end of the day im going for a vitamin e cream that doesnt contain artificial scents :) natural is good right? And im still on the hunt for something like this which will be all natural from say the body shop or even Nutrimedics (with their "green" and anti-animal cruelty policies).

And continue to use it till your skin looks normal and soft but oh gosh! There's a tattoo there :) hah.
Hope this helped you out! I was confused by all the guides out there and the advice, so my method seems to work and id love to hear comments and suggestions :) even experiences!!

Whered the title come from you might ask? Haha, my darling boyfriend touched my ribs where my newest ink is and said to me "oh! Babe! You need to moisturize!" which inspired me to finally update :) kisses!!!

Hi there Facebook
21-APRIL-2010

Well a big hello to facebook! The ever so popular social networking website that has taken the web by storm is still contiuning its invasion, one website at a time.

The newest feature to dazzle facebook whores is the new "Like" option that will take over the web. This new 'Social Plugin' allows users to 'Like' just about anything! Christ! Will this feature expand as far as Red-Tube? Because we could have a major privacy issue on our hands...

"Dude, this is the youporn video of me and my girlfriend getting it on at my house next week... 'Like' " Hmm...

Wanna test it out? You know you wanna...

Like button is now on the left hand side!

Also, I'm thinking MAJOR security risk with the logon screen if your not logged in and you hit the pretty like button... Thoughts? email me and tell me your opinions

Blog again...?
21-APRIL-2010

Second blog-post of the day, more so to fill out the front page because it looked oh so lonely.

Palm Treo 750 Image
Image from mobiletopsoft.com

So today at work I've recieved a Palm Treo 750, which is quite a piece of shyt. I love the soft QWERTY keyboard on it, the screen size could be a bit bigger though and the software that I downloaded -from the official "palm" website, mind you- keeps erroring and stuffs up! Windows won't recognize the device (even though its running a Windows Mobile OS).

When this phone is going for $150 these days, I'm honestly wondering why the hell theyre still buyable. I can get a LG KS360 for cheaper and it has Wifi and a better operating system. I think its time for devices such as the Palm Treo to meet the recycling box.

After a grueling 3 years I've finally managed to get my ass into gear and place the first image and blog onto my website.

I work as a web and graphic designer for a large university in Australia and while a lot of it is politics and a bit of drama here and there, its a great place to work. Most of the people are friendly and staff are treated with respect.

This is a blog about lifes turn-arounds. How things sail along and what to do when shyt hits the fan... About fashion, technology, love and all things inbetween.
